According to Singtel, the new capability is based on an advanced network slicing technology known as User Equipment Route Selection Policy, which enables enhanced connectivity by prioritising data traffic and allocating dedicated network resources.
"Enterprises can benefit from a purpose-built slice of Singtel’s 5G network when they use apps that leverage Apple’s traffic categories, such as Streaming and Communication or are managed through a supported Mobile Device Management (MDM)," Singtel says.
"It is particularly beneficial for users of apps which require better data performance, consistent bandwidth and lower latency such as those for workplace productivity and enterprise communications."

Singtel says it will have a dedicated slice for voice and video-based productivity apps such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp and others, and managed business apps via MDM, catering to the unique needs of enterprises across various industries.
“We’re committed to supporting the ambitions of our enterprise customers by developing innovative solutions, which allow them to drive productivity and scale their businesses," said Ng Tian Chong, CEO, Singtel Singapore.
"As enterprises increasingly rely on collaboration tools and high-quality communications, our enhanced 5G app-based network slicing—now extended to support iPhone and iPad—enables them to work smarter, adapt faster, and stay ahead in an ever-evolving digital landscape.”
5G Network Slicing is available on iPhone 14 or later models running iOS 18.2 or above, as well as selected iPad models running iPadOS 18.2 or above.
Singtel says it has been progressively developing and testing its network slicing capabilities, which have been deployed at high-traffic events such as the F1 Grand Prix Season Singapore 2022, Singapore’s National Day Parade in 2022 and 2023, as well as the Coldplay and Taylor Swift concerts in 2024.
