Matt Salier explains the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre's voluntary data classification framework

By

Cybercriminals never rest and company data is an increasingly valuable target. Yet many small to medium enterprises don't have data classification in place, nor might even recognise the value of doing so. The Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (Aus3C) is partnering with the CSIRO and Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs to establish a voluntary data classification framework (VDCF) and is running workshops to help define and establish it. Matt Salier speaks with iTWireTV to explain it all.

The Voluntary Data Classification Framework (VDCF) is all about helping organisations of all sizes be more secure; part of the problem identified by the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (Aus3C) is that people often don't know how to begin.

Here's where Aus3C comes in! Working with the CSIRO's Data 61 and the Department of Home Affairs, the collaboration centre is holding workshops with businesses around Australia to help inform, guide, and structure the VDCF.

Aus3C CEO Matt Salier explains the project, and what it really means, to iTWireTV and how you can get involved.
