Asus ExpertBook P5 Business Laptop Review Featured

Asus ExpertBook P5 Asus ExpertBook P5 HPL

The Asus ExpertBook P5 is the first business laptop we've tested that features Intel’s Lunar Lake technology.

Designed for SMBs, home workers and mobile professionals, it promises durability, premium support and business-focused Ai features.

Design

The P5's sturdy 'Misty Grey' chassis is light, solid and sleek. The ExpertBook lid logo adds a touch of class.

It features a 14-inch, matte, IPS screen with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution. It's not as vibrant as an OLED display, but there are no reflections, making it ideal for work environments. While the 144Hz refresh rate aids smooth visuals, the slow pixel response time means it's not good for fast and frantic games.

The keyboard is high-quality and comfortable for extended use, though the arrow keys are compacted. The responsive trackpad includes optional gestures, which some may find more disruptive than useful.

Asus' Ai ExpertMeet apps provide useful meeting tools like automated subtitles, transcriptions and the watermarking of video feeds. It also supports Microsoft’s CoPilot+ Ai assistant.

Impressive connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HMDI 2.1 port and two USB-A ports.

The 1.27kg laptop feels lightweight yet durable and is MIL-STD-810H military certified. The keyboard is also spill-resistant. It's perfect for life on the road.

Performance

Powered by Intel’s Ultra 7 258V Lunar Lake processor plus, 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD, it scored 6,833 in PCMark 10, which demonstrates strong, overall computing performance. However, Cinebench rendering results were modest, highlighting how the loss of HyperThreading, in favor of power efficiency and responsiveness, isn't all good news. The integrated Intel Arc GPU supports light gaming, though demanding titles require (significantly) lowered settings.

The cooling system is effective and quiet, preventing thermal throttling even under sustained loads. The side and bottom-mounted vents mean that it shouldn't overheat when left closed in a dock all day.

Battery life is excellent, lasting over 19 hours in the PCMark 10 Modern Office test and the fast-charging feature is a bonus.

Conclusion

Priced at $2,799, the P5 offers great value for a business-class laptop. Its durability, good battery life and excellent features make it a standout choice for professionals and SMBs. As such, it's our new Number 1 best Business Laptop.
